Nicholas Turner is a Strategy and Knowledge Management Specialist at ²ÝÁñÊÓƵ-IAS.

He supports the overall management and institutional development of the institute, and the coordination and implementation of its activities, as part of the Strategy and Management Office (SMO). His responsibilities encompass strategic and operational management, producing and delivering knowledge products, coordination of the ²ÝÁñÊÓƵ-IAS Advisory Board, and building strategic partnerships within and beyond the UN system. He also leads the institute¡¯s communications strategy and activities as manager of the ²ÝÁñÊÓƵ-IAS Communications unit.

Nicholas holds an MA in International Relations (with Distinction) from the University of Kent at Canterbury, as well as a BSc (Hons) in Business Administration and Computer Science. Prior to joining ²ÝÁñÊÓƵ he worked for local government and several NGOs in Hampshire and Kent, and for QinetiQ Group on the Defence Training Review programme for the British armed forces. Nicholas has research interests in multilateral institutions, global governance, development, peace and security, human rights and ethics. His publications include chapters in the books Legality and Legitimacy in International Order (Oxford University Press, 2011) and An Institutional Approach to The Responsibility to Protect (Cambridge University Press, 2013).
