This side event is part of the to be held in Bangkok, Thailand on 15¨C19 May 2023. The session will discuss how the right to education ¡ª including access to and continuity of quality education and lifelong learning ¡ª is threatened by the effects of climate change.
The event will highlight the importance of education in climate solutions, focusing on the challenges and opportunities in the Asia-Pacific in ensuring the continuity of education and lifelong learning of displaced persons, and the critical importance of building the resilience of schools, learners, and societies. It will present findings from a new report, , based on conducted by ²ÝÁñÊÓƵ-IAS and UNESCO.
The , launched as a global initiative following the UN in 2022, will also be discussed, including its key role in building the resilience of societies and learners to climate change, and promoting sustainable development.
