On 28 August 2023, (EIC), the media department of (TEIA), published an article focusing on the Satoyama Initiative. This global effort, for which ²ÝÁñÊÓƵ-IAS serves as the secretariat, aims to realise societies in harmony with nature through the revitalisation and sustainable management of socio-ecological production landscapes and seascapes.
The article features expert comments from ²ÝÁñÊÓƵ-IAS experts Suneetha Subramanian (Research Fellow) and (Research Fellow and Academic Associate). It explores the contribution of the Satoyama Initiative to the goals of the Kunming¨CMontreal Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF) ¡ª notably the ¡°30x30¡± conservation target, aiming to protect 30% of the world¡¯s land and sea by 2030. The article also highlights how the (IPSI) facilitates knowledge sharing among its members and the role of community building to support local resilience.
